Christmas Crackers, December 2001 (performed in Payhembury Parish Hall)

This fun evening comprised a range of acts including, amongst others guitarist and singer Chris Cantell, a group of choral singers under the direction of Brian Waterfield magic from John Somers (including sawing Stephanie Houghton in half!), Marjorie Wright’s recitation about a shy girl deflecting advances from a boy, Ashley Webb’s guitar and song, Betty Johns’ reading of ‘Rules and Regillations of the New Dairy Order’, a fanciful ‘official document’ outlining new conditions for keeping cows – chintz curtains to be fitted, for example. Daniel and Connor Trivett gave a Tae Kwon Do demonstration and Helen Houghton and Tess Whiting recited the ‘Possum Poem’.

In true cabaret style, audience members were seated at tables and were able to drink and eat during the performances.
